Khwaja Asif terms PML-Q leaders as 'rental bicycles'
SIALKOT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Khawaja Asif, Saturday termed Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) leaders as “rental bicycles” available to the government all the time for running political errands, Geo News reported.
“The ruling party uses Q-leaguers as “disposable allies” only to be ditched when the job is done” said he talking to Geo News after addressing a ceremony at a private college here.
He said it was interesting to note that former president Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf’s longtime supporters as well as cabinet members namely PML-Q and MQM were supporting Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri’s long march.
“Doesn’t it raise your eyebrows? Look who is backing this long march. All of them including Qardi are self- centered opportunists” Khawaja said.
“I ask you what this Altaf-Qadri tag team put-on was aimed at. I think they only want to strip the people of whatever rights they are left with” said he.
He argued that it was a shame that these parties which always bask in the glow of power resort to cheap tricks like these as the elections draw near.
"They are actively trying to sabotage polls for they know this time around nothing can save them from getting voted out", he added.
