SC to take up Altaf contempt case Monday
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan will conduct hearing into a contempt notice issued to MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Monday, Geo News reported.
The apex court had directed Mr Hussain thorough a notice to appear on January 7 for his remarks against the court during a public gathering.
On the other hand the MQM’s legal team headed by Barrister Nasim Farogh and comprising Qazi Khalid and others moved a plea in the Supreme Court, seeking permission for MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar or any lawyer to represent Mr Hussain in the court.
The petition also sought exemption from personal appearance of the MQM chief on January 7.
