Lawyers to play role for Karachi peace

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court Bar Association President Mustafa Lakhani said on Saturday that legal fraternity would play its due role for bringing to an end the incidents of targeted killing in Karachi as political parties have failed to do so. He was addressing the lawyers at a luncheon organised by Justice Club International (JCI) at Supreme Court’s Karachi registry. He appreciated the role being played by JCI for well being of poor and needy persons. He said that a joint peace conference would be organised where all political parties would be invited to discuss the Karachi situation and find its solution. He held that every lawyer would be at forefront in public litigation matters and providing justice to the poor. Aainuddin, Vice President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) said that SCBA condemned the ongoing targeted killing in the city, adding their association would play role to get halted such incidents. He said that they support the democratic system, adding that election should take place on time. ppi
