Interim setup will be as per Constitution: Kaira
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the caretaker government would be formed in accordance with the Constitution, Geo News reported on Wednesday.
While addressing journalists from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, Kaira also commented on Allama Tahirul Qadri’s proposed January 14 long-march on Islamabad and said the march should peaceful otherwise it would harm the country. He noted that the cleric’s statements were contradictory.
The minister dismissed the use of war and weapons to bring peace and blamed Afghan war for what he said Pakistan was used as a base camp. He said the war led to transformation of a tolerant Pakistani society to a radical one.
He also stressed on the importance of regional cooperation and stated that the PPP government had cooperated with all regional countries including India on different issues, adding that and a soft visa policy would strengthen the friendship among SAARC countries.
