Govt not supporting long march: Malik
KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the government was not supporting the long march led by Allama Tahirul Qadri.
Talking to media at Karachi airport on Tuesday, he said that the government would not block the long march.
However, he said that no one would be allowed to create law and order situation. Malik said that Tahirul Qadri should realise security concerns to his rally.
He further said that the people also wanted to know as to who was providing funds for the long march.
He said that Rs 250 million would be required for the security measures of the event. He also advised the people, who want to take part in the rally to bring their National Identity cards, as no one would be allowed to enter in Islamabad without identification.
To a question about the Shahzab murder case, he said that the apex court had taken the notice of the case and he does not want interfere in the matter. He said that the investigation into the escape of main accused in Shahzab case to Dubai was being carried out. app
