Qadri refuses to meet Chaudhrys in Malik Riaz’s presence
LAHORE: In a dramatic twist of events, Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri refused to meet the Chaudhry brothers when they reached Minhaj Secretariat on Saturday evening, after knowing that property tycoon Malik Riaz was with them. Talking to the media, Qadri said he could not meet the PML-Q leaders in the presence of Malik Riaz. “Chaudhry brothers did not inform me that Malik Riaz would accompany them. Any meeting or talks in the presence of Riaz, owing to his repute, would leave many doubts… like long march has been compromised or I have been bought,” he said. Vowing to carry on with the long march, Qadri said, “No one can purchase me. There will be no more talks now. Talks will be held in Islamabad now.” On a mission to hold talks with the TMQ chief and persuade him to cancel his long march, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had went to Minhaj Secretariat along with Malik Riaz and Moonis Elahi. staff report
