Elections will be held on time: SC

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan was hearing the case pertaining to reformations in the election process Tuesday where the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the elections will be held on time, Geo News reported.

A three-judge bench headed by the Chief Justice was hearing the case today. During the proceedings, the CJ remarked that it is not important that who is doing what but the elections will be held on time no matter what.

He said that no compromise will be made regarding the timeline of the elections and the Election Commission of Pakistan should remain prepared for it.

The Chief Justice also enquired from the government that what it has done so far to implement the court order. He said that the Election Commission should be prepared to follow the guidelines provided by the government to hold polls.
