MQM thanks public for showing solidarity

KARACHI: The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has thanked the general public, religious scholars, transporters and industrialists for taking part in the peaceful day of mourning observed by MQM to express solidarity with the mourners of the Quetta tragedy.

In a statement issued here on Monday, it said that the people had shown, by closing their businesses voluntarily on the appeal of MQM and sharing the grief of the mourners, that nobody could be allowed to demean humanity at any cost.

It said that MQM was against sectarianism and wishes to diffuse tolerance among the followers of various schools of thoughts as per the teaching of founding leader of MQM, Altaf Hussain.

The committee said MQM valued the feelings of the mourners and hailed them for showing unwavering determination for the acceptance of their legitimate demands.
