Govt begins job distribution as polls draw near
KARACHI: As elections draw near, the rulers have started distributing jobs among their supporters and for this Excise and Taxation Department Sindh Sunday conducted interviews for grade-17 posts despite a weekly off, Geo News reported.
Excise department conducted interviews for grade-17 posts of Excise and Taxation Officers (ETOs). The appointments are being made for six-month period with the approval of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Representatives of Excise department and Services and General Administration dept were part of interview committee, however, Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) is kept away from the process.
It may be noted here that several cases relating to the appointments have been lying pending in Sindh High Court. Three petitions have so far been filed in which it is contended that such vacancies can only be filled through SPSC.
