‘Anti-govt meetings cannot harm PPP’
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has its strong roots among the masses, so anti-government meetings can cause no damage to its popularity, said Sindh Minister for Revenue, Jam Mehtab Hussain.
Talking to people from different walks of life at his office the minister said freedom of expression is the basic right of people, however, baseless allegations and foul language must be avoided.
He said that opponents specially Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and smaller parties in Sindh could nominate their candidates during next polls but they must not forget that they hold no chance to win against PPP.”
PPP philosophy is based on the principles of equity, equality and democracy,” said the minister adding that it is also the party of martyrs.”Shaheed ZulfiKar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed had laid their lives for democracy and for the PPP itself,” said Jam Mehtab Hussain.
He said despite all sorts of attempts to dismantle the party and its workers Pakistan People’s Party stands united under the able leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. app
