Fazlur Rehman offers to mediate talks with Taliban
ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema Islam Chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has offered his services to mediate talks with the Taliban, Geo News reported.
Speaking to the host of Geo News’ program Jirga, Fazlur Rehman said that if the government gives him complete authority then he is ready to mediate talks with the Taliban.
It is important to mention here that Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud via a video released to news outlets, had offered to open talks. Pakistan’s Information Minister for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Mian Iftikhar had welcomed Mehsud's statement.
