PML-N vows to restore Bahawalpur province
LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) pledged on Monday that it will restore Bahawalpur’s status of province at any cost. This was stated during a press conference jointly addressed by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. Chief Minister Shahbaz criticised the PPP-led coalition government on the issue of creation of new province, and announced that Bahawalpur province would be established at any cost. He said that the Bahawalpur city would be the capital of the province. Shahbaz termed the efforts to create new province another trick of the PPP and ‘Zardari gang’ to postpone the forthcoming elections. He said that the PPP is trying to put in doldrums the issue of new provinces by misleading the people. He said the Parliamentary Commission on Creation of New Provinces in Punjab should look into the administrative issues of the new province. online
