India wants good relations with Pakistan: Sabharwal

ISLAMABAD: Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Sharat Sabharwal on Monday said Delhi wanted to have good relations with Islamabad, and vowed that peaceful, democratic and stable Pakistan was in the interest of India. Talking to reporters at a local hotel on the occasion of the republic day reception of his country, the Indian high commissioner said that it had been and still was the policy of India that relations with Pakistan should be friendly, based on mutual interests and benefits. Referring to some untoward incidents on the Line of Control (LoC), he said that the actions enhanced tensions and disturbed the friendly atmosphere between the two countries. However, he said that it was necessary that the peace process was carefully nurtured and efforts made to ensure that the peace process was not damaged. app
