SHC to hear Ansar Burney’s petition against VIP culture Monday

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has admitted a constitutional petition submitted by Ansar Burney Trust International, seeking an end to the VIP culture.

The hearing of the petition is set to be carried out before SHC Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah on Monday.

Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust and human rights activist, Ansar Burney filed the Constitutional petition in the SHC against VVIP/ VIP movements that result in the closure of roads causing hardship for the common people.

The petition says the VIP movement is becoming a source of source of ever growing frustration, irritability, intolerance, frustration and annoyance among the masses.

Ansar Burney mentioned in his petition that his Trust is not against the security provided to officials facing threats. It only aims to resolve and remedy the ‘lethal effects’ of the VIP culture, it added.
