Nisar directs NADRA to computerise visa process
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to computerise visa process and its pervious record. Chairing a high-level meeting, he directed the NADRA authorities to continue process of developing data bank of international NGOs and continue updating process. He said that this process would help facilitate registered INGOs and make their working easy. The meeting, which was attended by NADRA chairman and senior officers of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), reviewed various issues including SOPs for deportees from different countries, registration of INGOs, computerised visa regime and evolving mechanism regarding police and FIA offices for showing good performance. The minister directed the officials to finalise the SOPs regarding deportee by keeping in view their nature. The meeting also revived in detail the steps taken to make NACTA effective. Nisar also directed FIA to continue its operation against human traffickers and was briefed about legal process taken against arrested human traffickers. He asked the officials to prepare a comprehensive policy and mechanism so as to give cash reward to those performing outstanding duties. He said that those officers showing good performance would be encouraged through rewards. Meanwhile, Pakistan Ambassador to Bahrain Javed Malik called on Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan at Punjab House on Friday. Nisar felicitated the ambassador (designate) on his new assignment and expressed the hope that he would be instrumental in further cementing ties of two brotherly countries in all possible areas.
