Court reissues arrest warrants for Waseem Akhtar, other MQM leaders
KARACHI: Arrest warrants have once again been issued for Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and nominee for the slot of Karachi mayor, Waseem Akhtar in a case in which he faces charges of paying a role as a facilitator in issuing provocative speeches.
Other MQM leaders including Dr Farooq Sattar, Khawaja Izhar and Nasreen jalil are absconders in the case while Rauf Siddiqui has been granted an extension in his interim bail till January 15 by an anti-terrorism court.
The court has once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 100 MQM workers including 20 central leaders.
Later, talking to Geo News, Rauf Siddiqui said a case was build against him for making a phone call to Dr Asim Hussain for the treatment of terrorists. He said Dr Asim Hussain his whole life served Pakistan People’s Party but in the report he is taking the name of MQM.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader admitted providing medical treatment to an Afghan Taliban but no action is being taken against him.
