ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui on Saturday said the National Action Plan (NAP) launched by the PML-N government for the elimination of terrorism was yielding positive results. Peace had been restored in the country, particulary Karachi, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas, he said while talking to state-run television. Irfan Siddiqui said the PML-N government was determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country as it launched the operation Zarb-e-Azb and Karachi operation to counter terrorism. He said law and order in Karachi was now too much better than 2013, when the PML-N came into power. Similarly, law and order situation in Balochistan had also improved due to the government efforts and the sacrifices of law enforcement forces, he maintained. Replying to a question, he said the government had announced different development packages such as health scheme and Kisan package, besides introducing reforms to bring transparency in the election system. The special assistant said the national economy had been strengthened to the prudent policies of PML-N government. To another question, he said India should avoid leveling baseless allegations on Pakistan for terror acts, as it would vitiate the dialogue process, which was going to be started after the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan. Pakistan, he said, itself was a victim of terrorism and was in a state of war with terrorists.
