ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Monday urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan not to make China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) controversial as it was a national mega project.
Talking to a private news channel, he said, "I had already briefed on CPEC in all parties conference and parliamentary committee in which PTI members were also present and they reviewed the western route of the corridor and expressed their satisfaction on it."
The minister said the government was determined to protect the national project as it is a game changer for the country and region.
"China private company was investing in energy sector as it is imperative to overcome the crisis to further strengthen the national economy," he added.
Ahsan Iqbal assured that no industrial zone will be established as the country is already facing power crisis. Replying to a question, he said not a single rupee of federal government was being spent in Orange line train.
