Saudi-Iran crisis to be discussed in parliament: Qadir Baloch
APP

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Lt. Gen. (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch on Tuesday said that Saudi Arabia and Iran crisis would be discussed in the parliament.
On the return of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from Sri Lanka, All Parties Conference (APC) may be called to discuss the crisis, he said while talking to a private news channel. He said, Pakistan would play a positive role to defuse ongoing tension between the brotherly Islamic countries.
Qadir Baloch said that Pakistan was closely monitoring the situation. Such a conflict should not have occurred between two muslim countries, he added. The Saudi-Iran tension could have negative impact in the region, particularly in Pakistan, he said.
If a consensus on the issue could be evolved, it would be in national interest as Pakistan enjoys friendly and cordial relations with both the countries, he said. He said every muslim would protect the 'Harmain Shareefain.' He said, it was responsibility of Iran to protect and safeguard all the foreign embassies. Replying to another question, he said terrorist organization 'Daesh' was a big threat for the entire world. Talking to another channel he said, India and Pakistan had agreed to resume comprehensive dialogue but some forces wanted to sabotage the dialogue process between the two countries.
"We have observed similar incidents in past whenever India and Pakistan want to resolve the outstanding issues including Kashmir dispute and terrorism," he said.
Present government had been focusing on improving bilateral relations with all the countries of the region including India, he added.
PML-N government always focused on improving bilateral relations with all countries of the region whenever it came into power, he said adding, some forces had always been trying to create hurdles in improving India-Pakistan bilateral relations. Both the countries should not give the space to these forces and a comprehensive dialogue should continue at all costs.
