SC moved for introducing uniform education system

ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking orders for introduction of uniform education system all over the country.

Advocate Kokab Iqbal filed the petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution on Tuesday. Cabinet Division secretary, CADD secretary and all the four provincial education secretaries have been made respondents in the petition. The petitioner contended that uniform education system be enforced in the country, adding syllabus and education system should be based on Urdu. All the aspects including Islamic values and ideology of Pakistan should be protected. He said in his petition that the chapters on Khalid Bin Walid, Muhammad Bin Qasim and Tipu Sultan, poetry of Allama Iqbal and speeches of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah have been excluded from the current syllabus.
