Dr Imran murder: Govt says no request made to UK to hand over accused
By APP
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has not requested to the United Kingdom (UK) for handing over any accused in Dr Imran Farooq murder case, an Interior Ministry spokesman said here on Saturday.
The spokesman in a statement said at this stage the case was going through different stages of investigation and any demand to Scotland Yard (for handing over accused living in the UK) would be before time and meaningless.
Moreover, no application had also been received from Britain for handing over of any accused arrested in Pakistan, he added.
He said news reports in some sections of the media were speculative.
Such speculative reports could have a negative impact on the investigation, so these should be avoided, he advised.
