MQM’s Mashhadi acquitted in provocative speeches case

KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi on Friday acquitted Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Senator Tahir Mashhadi in provocative speeches case.
New Town police had registered case against the Senator. Mashhadi was charged with arranging MQM’s chief speech, clapping and praising him during the speech.
Investigating officer presented report before the judge that Tahir Mashhadi’s presence during the speech has not been proved, therefore, he be released from custody.
The court acquitted him from the case on police report.
