Rs. 11 billions distributed amongst 2015 earthquake affectees

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid Thursday said about Rs. 11 billion were given in compensation to affectees of earthquake in 2015.
Replying to a question in National Assembly, he informed the house that 280 people were killed and 1770 were injured while 96188 houses and 497 schools were damaged due to earthquake.
He said Rs. 10.45 billion were distributed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as compensation amongst the affectees. The 50 percent of the amount was given by federal government and other share was given by the KPK government. Likewise, Rs. 756 millions were distributed in FATA, Rs. three million in Punjab and Rs. 0.65 millions were distributed amongst the affectees of AJK. He said government had made good rehabilitation efforts and didn't seek foreign aid in this regard.
