Foreign hand behind terrorists’ patronization: Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence, Khawaja Asif on Wednesday said the terrorist elements were not operating independently and regardless of where the source of their patronization lies, it will be ended.
Speaking to Geo News here, Khawaja Asif said this patronization goes back 30 – 35 years and that there is a foreign hand involved in this. “We are currently in the process of untying with teeth the knots that were done with hands in the past,” he said.
“The incumbent government decided one and a half year ago to defeat these elements,” he said.
Khawaja Asif said the government, army and security institutions are presently engaged in fighting a decisive battle.
He, however, warned that if National Action Plan (NAP) was not implemented in its entirety, the desired results would not be achieved.
