PM arrives in Switzerland to attend World Economic Forum
ZURICH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Switzerland to attend the 46th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
PM Nawaz arrived in Switzerland from Iran, where he held meetings with Iranian leadership.
Talking to the media in Tehran before leaving for the Swiss city Zurich where he will represent Pakistan in the World Economic Forum (WEF), Nawaz said Pakistan's efforts for de-escalation of tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran was a "sacred mission".
Nawaz said he was encouraged by a "positive response" from the leaderships of the two brotherly countries. "We got a positive response from the leaderships of the two countries, who are appreciative of Pakistan's initiative and efforts," Nawaz said.
The World Economic Forum annual meeting is being attended by over 40 heads of state and government and 2,500 leaders from business and society.
Security, climate change, new normal global growth and commodity prices, are among key issues on the agenda.
At Davos, the Prime Minister will participate in a number of global events and hold bilateral meetings with key political and business leaders.
