PM announces one, KP three days of mourning
ZURICH: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday announced a day of national mourning on Thursday to express solidarity with the victims of the Bacha Khan University. The national flag will fly at half-mast at all government buildings in and outside the country today. In a related development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announced mourning for three days in the province in the wake of the terror attack on the Bacha Khan University, Charsadda. The national flag would fly at half-mast at all government buildings for three days, a KP government spokesman said. He said that Quran Khwani would be held and prayers offered for eternal peace for the martyrs and early recovery of the injured. Also, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced a day of mourning throughout the province on Thursday. The prime minister on Wednesday telephoned Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and discussed the Charsadda terror attack. General Sharif visited the Bacha Khan University after the terror attack.
