ISLAMABAD: Taking notice of Khalid Shamim's media talk on Thursday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has suspended the in-charge of police guards, who was responsible for producing the suspect in Imran Farooq murder case before a court.
In a statement issued here, the Federal Interior Minister expressed dismay over Khalid Shamim's media talk and said Imran Farooq’s murder case will not be allowed to be turned into a 'media circus' at any cost.
"Imran Farooq murder case must be allowed to be dealt with only by the court," the statement said.
He said a media talk of the accused and his unnecessary comments can have a negative impact on proceedings of the case. “Regardless of what anyone says, only justice and truth will take precedence in the case,” he asserted.
Today, as Khalid Shamim was being escorted out of court by Law Enforcement Agencies, he pleaded for the public's help, saying he wants to take the case to the International Court of Justice.
"I know that Altaf Hussain, Mohammad Anwar and accomplices are being helped by MI6, RAW and the CIA," he said. "I need help. I want to take this case to the International Court of Justice."
