PM urges entrepreneurs to invest in Pakistan

DAVOS - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that today’s Pakistan is fast heading towards a promising and prosperous future.

Giving a talk on “Regions in Transformation South Asia” in Davos, he said the government has successfully addressed the challenges of terrorism, energy shortages and economic revival.

He said Pakistan has paid heavy price in the fight against terrorism in term of loss of life and property. He said that due to Zarb-e-Azb military operation, the terrorists are now on the run and are striking soft targets.

PM Nawaz said the country’s GDP growth rate was 3 per cent, now it was 4.2 per cent and hopefully it would cross 5 per cent rate. Meanwhile, the prime minister held a breakfast meeting with traders and businessmen at Davos.

The prime minister apprised the entrepreneurs about the business and investment friendly policies of the government. Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Chairman Board of Investment Miftah Ismail, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and founder of World Economic Forum were also present in the meeting.
