COAS vows to go to any length for secure, terror-free Karachi

KARACHI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday expressed resolve go to any length for a secure and terror-free Karachi to ensure a peaceful and fearless daily life for its citizens.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan Army, the COAS visited Corps Headquarters Karachi and chaired a special security meeting which was also attended by Corps Commander, DG ISI, DG MI, DG Rangers were present.

He was briefed in detail regarding the ongoing Karachi operation including those that were carried out on the basis of intelligence.

The Army Chief appreciated Rangers and other law enforcement agencies for their successes in improving the security environment of the port city.

General Raheel Sharif specially commended the intelligence agencies for achieving major breakthroughs in unearthing various terrorists' networks in their bid to dismantle terror infrastructure and sever their linkages with terrorists' cells and bases outside Karachi.
