Qaim says DG Rangers took him into confidence over Uzair’s arrest
SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday claimed that he was taken into confidence over Uzair Baloch's arrest by the Director General (DG) Rangers.
Talking to newsmen here, Qaim Ali Shah said it is being reported that his arrest was made earlier but made public today.
He said he was told that Uzair Baloch was wanted in crimes including murder, dacoity and other cases, adding that he (Qaim) gave green signal to DG Rangers and said investigation should be launched against Lyari gang leader.
Qaim Ali Shah expressed hope that transparency will prevail in Uzair Baloch’s interrogation and said Pakistan People's Party (PPP) would respond if it is blamed for anything.
"Neither did we protect any terrorist in the past nor would we do it in future," said the Sindh CM, adding that his party is against all criminals and terrorists.
Praising the Police and Rangers, Qaim said the Law Enforcement Agencies did their best to bring back peace in Karachi. He added that PPP was against extremism and it has already proved it.
