Schools’ closure reflects govt’s failure: Khursheed Shah

KARACHI: Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah on Sunday expressed shock over government’s decision to keep the schools shut, saying such moves would only embolden the terrorists.

Talking to media persons here, Khursheed Shah said shutting down schools reflects government’s failure.

Commenting on Uzair Baloch’s photos with leaders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), he said taking selfies is a hit trend these days and anyone can take photos with anybody.

When asked to comment on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s statement of potatoes being available for Rs5 per kilogram, Khursheed Shah said there is nothing surprising about it, as PM regularly gets briefings that ‘all is well’. “The plight of the poor is better known by Jialas like us,” he added.

Over the accusation of point-scoring, the opposition leader said he always went a step ahead in supporting the government’s counter-terrorisms steps, adding, their labeling of pointing out negligence as point-scoring is deplorable.
