Zulfiqar Mirza still considers Uzair Baloch his brother

KARACHI: Former Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Zulfiqar Mirza on Saturday said that he still considers Lyari gang leader Uzair Baloch his brother.

Talking to newsmen outside an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), the former Sindh home minister said Uzair Baloch's arrest has just been made public and his statements once begin to come out will pave way for bringing back from abroad a number of people who had fled abroad.

He said the banned People's Aman Committee (PAC) had existed prior to PPP’s coming into power in 2008. “We had received it as an inheritance,” he added.

Mirza praised the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and described him as a patriotic Pakistani.

Talking to newsmen after inaugurating a girl's college in Karachi, Sindh senior minister Nisar Khuhro said a question that needs to be asked at this stage is that under whose detention Uzair Baloch remained till today.

“It also remains to be seen if Uzair Baloch's arrest a reaction to statements against Chaudhry Nisar," said Khuhro.

Talking to Geo News, another PPP leader Moula Bux Chandio said Uzair Baloch's arrest will not have any negative impact on his party.
