Pakistan-Afghan armed forces to enhance security on both sides of border

PESHAWAR: Eight members delegation of Afghan National Army (ANA) headed by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Mohammad Sharif Yaftali on Saturday visited Corps Headquarters and called on Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman. During the meeting of delegates with corps commander, matters pertaining to mutual interest and security arrangements at Pak-Afghan border came under discussion. Both commanders agreed on better coordination and enhancing security measures at both sides. Earlier upon arrival, the delegates laid floral wreath at Shuhada monument and appreciated the sacrifices of Pak Army in fighting against terrorism. Visit of ANA delegation is follow up of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s last visit to Afghanistan in which it was decided that corps commanders from both the respective sides will hold meetings for better border management.
