About the National Action Plan, the prime minister said it was being implemented with full force. He said that progress was being made on certain points, while efforts were required to expedite work on others. He said that terrorists were now carrying out isolated attacks to make their presence felt. He said that terrorists would be eliminated at any costs. He said the law and order situation in the country was deteriorating amid rampant bomb attacks when his party came into power in 2013. Now a significant improvement in the overall law and order situation has been made, he said. The Rangers will stay in Karachi where the law and order situation has stabilized over the last two and a half years, he said. He said the Operation Zarb-e-Azb achieved very positive results.

Sharif said: “The country is now put on the path of peace and progress. The media across the globe appreciate these achievements.”

Referring to the Pathankot incident, the prime minister reiterated that his government would take this issue to its logical end. He said that relations with India were improving, but the Pathankot incident affected them. “Pakistan will not allow terrorists to use its soil against any country,” he added.

When asked to comment on the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran, the prime minister said that Pakistan took the initiative on its own to ease the tension and remove the misunderstandings between the two countries.
