Farooq seeks world powers’ help to end Indian brutalities in Kashmir
By: Online
LONDON: Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that for many years, Indian forces were using brute power to crush the aspirations of Kashmiris and their struggle for right to self-determination.
Speaking with the party workers at Heathrow airport, he said that when the United Nations (UN) Security Council passed its Kashmir resolution, on April 21, 1948, it was supported by the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK) and France.
He said that the resolution stated that the future of Kashmir must be determined according to the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He appealed to the world powers to use their influence on India to start a peace process with Pakistan and associate the UN as well as the people of Jammu and Kashmir with it to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute.
