KP Assembly Passes MPs Salary Bill

ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Tuesday passed four bills, including two legislative proposals to raise the salaries of Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Provincial Ministers and all the provincial lawmakers.
The Speaker presided over the entire sitting while the Deputy Speaker was also present. The Chief Minister (CM) attended the sitting for two hours and 25 minutes while the Leader of the Opposition remained present during the entire proceedings.
Introduced by Law Minister, the House passed the KP Police Bill, 2017. Chief Minister, Leader of the Opposition and the lawmakers of PML-N, QWP-S, PPPP and ANP spoke on the bill for 46 minutes.
Moved by Law Minister, three other bills on the supplementary agenda were passed by the House, including the Ehtesab Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2017; the KP Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Members (Salaries, Allowances and Privileges) (Amendment) Bill, 2017 and the KP Ministers (Salaries, Allowances and Privileges) (Amendment) Bill, 2017.
