Mirza orders stern security for mosques, imambargahs


KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure extraordinary security measures at mosques and imambargahs in the month of Rajab and the celebrations of Hazarat Ali(RA)’s birthday.

According to statement issued by interior ministry Sindh, Mirza ordered Special Branch of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) and intelligence agencies to ensure better coordination.

He instructed the police to take stringent measures, especially in the sensitive areas, and beef up security during celebratory gatherings of Hazrat Ali (RA)’s birthday.

Mirza ordered extraordinary security at foreign embassies and consulates, worship places, airports, railways stations, bus stops, hotels, fast food outlets, markets, government offices and other sensitive installations.

He directed the law enforcement agencies to implement the ban on display of weapons, provocative wall chalking, and distribution of material inciting hatred.
