PPP’s MNA resigns over fake degree

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party MNA Malik Amar Yarwan has resigned from his seat after his educational degrees were challenged in the Supreme Court, a private TV channel reported on Thursday.

Yarwan’s rival Najeebuddin Awaisi had earlier filed a petition against him in the SC stating that he had obtained three fake academic degrees and was elected from Uch Sharif on the basis of these certificates. The SC summoned him to appear today to explain his actions. However after receiving the notice, Yarwan presented his resignation to National Assembly Speaker Fahmida Mirza, who accepted it. daily times monitor
