PM rates terror as biggest problem of Pakistan
LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said the government conducted a successful military operation; the consequences of which are quite visible to everyone, Geo News reported Saturday.
Talking to media after visiting the injured of the Data Darbar tragedy at Ganga Ram Hospital, he said the terrorists are now turning towards the cities as a result of successful operation by the military.
The operation is underway where the government writ is being challenged, he said adding the capabilities of Law-enforcers need to be enhanced.
He continued a meeting has been called on Monday to uproot the terrorism, adding the terrorism is the biggest menace country is facing.
Reacting to a question, he said, ‘Government does not believe in the politics of accusations,’ adding Federal Interior Minister Rehman A Malik has given explanation to his statement regarding Punjabi Taliban.
The PM Gilani urged the federal and provincial governments to concertedly decimate the intentions of the terrorists, adding, ‘Punjab government is our ally and how can I say for my government to resign.’
Gilani urged people to share, if they have any actionable information regarding terrorism, stressing no single political party can cope with the issue of terrorism single-handedly.
