PA passes protest resolution against terrorism

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Monday passed a protest resolution unanimously against recent acts of terrorism in the province.

It was resolved that the terrorists will never be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah presented the resolution which termed the attacks on Data Darbar as an assault against entire humanity which deserves strongest condemnation.

The resolution also denounced attacks on worship places of Ahmedis.

It said the whole house is united to fight the war against terrorists with full commitment and to win the same.

The resolution was passed with full consensus, as not a single member showed any opposition.

Opposition leader in the house Chaudhry Zaheeruddin in his remarks said the attack on Data Darbar is even greater than 9/11, as it is an assault on the spirit and heart of the proponents of Islam, Pakistan and Punjab.

“Today mosques, schools and police are not safe anymore,” he noted, adding relentless acts of terror in Punjab reflect provincial government’s failure which must be admitted. He said it is well justified and fair to demand resignation from the Provincial government.

Pakistan People’s Party member Shaukat Basra demanded termination of IG Punjab. If Data’s Nagri (territory) is not safe then the rulers have no right to stay in government, he added.
