Reference against Sharif due to his statements, says Aitzaz
ISLAMABAD: The references filed against Khawaja Sharif, the Lahore High Court (LHC) chief justice (CJ), are the result of his uncalled-for political statements, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan said on Tuesday, according to APP.
In a telephonic conversation with a private news channel, the PPP leader said, “Khawaja Sharif is himself responsible for creating an awkward environment which has consequently resulted in the reference being filed against him with the Supreme Court registrar.”
The PPP leader suggested that the LHC CJ should now avoid issuing any further political statements against the political parties of the country. The reference against Sharif would go to the Supreme Judicial Council, which would decide on the matter, he added. app
