Degrees of five lawmakers found fake
PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD/ LAHORE: During the ongoing fake degrees scandal, Bahauddin Zikria University and the University of Peshawar on Wednesday declared degrees of five parliamentarians fake.
The BZU found the degrees of PML-N MNA Salman Mohsin, PPP MPA Waseem Afzal fake and Senator Akbar Magsi fake, according to a private TV channel.
Sources said BZU has no record of the roll number mentioned on Mohsin’s result card, while it was found that Afzal had failed the English exam.
Also on Wednesday, UoP declared the bachelor’s degrees of two PPP lawmakers bogus.
An official familiar with the degrees’ verification process at UoP told Daily Times that the degrees of an MNA from Bajaur Agency, Akhunzada Chitan, and an MPA, Safina Saima, had been found fake. He said the process of verification was complete and degrees of the rest of the parliamentarians had been found genuine.
