Kaira assures media workers to protect rights
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday assured the media workers that he would make all-out efforts to protect their rights, urging them to forge unity among their ranks for collective benefit of the community.He was addressing the participants of an oath-taking ceremony of Media Workers Organization’s (MWOs) newly-elected body here at the Information Service Academy.Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) Zumurd Khan, renowned social activist Dr. Nasir Jamal Nasir and Information Secretary Mansur Sohail were also present on the occasion.
Kaira congratulated the newly elected body of MWO and highlighted the important role of workers in promoting media industry.
The minister said Pakistan People’s Party always worked for welfare of media workers and promotion of media industry, giving them more independence and facilities.
