Nawaz tried to fool nation, says Babar Awan


LAHORE: Federal Law Minister Dr. Babar Awan said the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif tried to befool the nation, Geo News reported Sunday.

Talking to media at Lahore airport, he said, ‘Nawaz Sharif forgot that camera eye does not speak untruth.’

No parliament can give opinion about institutions, he asserted referring a consensus resolution passed at the floor of Punjab Assembly against media, adding the entire nation witnessed who spearheaded the resolution.

‘Pakistan People's Party (PPP) believes in the freedom of expression and cannot even think of imposing bans on media,’ he said.

On this occasion, Awan urged Nawaz Sharif to take name of the one who actually led the mischief (masti) leaving out Mastikhel, who is being made the victim over the fracas.

He urged the PML-N leadership not to make a scapegoat of a Mastikhel, adding, ‘The entire nation watched the tolerance of the princes of Lahore dynasty.’

These princes want confrontation among the federal institutions by giving a vital office to an absconder of a province, the Law Minister Awan said remarking if the courts of small provinces are not respected, then the case regarding Zardari’s father would have to be shifted to some other province.

Commenting on mounting fake degrees crisis, he ruled out mid-term elections even if 150 degrees are proved fake, adding only by-polls would be held for the purpose.

Regarding his own PhD degree being fake, Babar Awan observed, he is being put on media trial.
