KP senior minister, MPA’s degrees found fake
PESHAWAR/LAHORE: The bachelor’s degrees of two Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly members, including a senior minister, have been declared fake by the Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan, officials told Daily Times on Thursday.
According to an official familiar with the degree-verification process at Gomal University’s examination department, the bachelors’ degrees of two members of provincial assembly (MPAs) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senior Minister Rahim Dad Khan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) minority MPA Kishore Kumar – were found to be fake.
The report sent to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) by Gomal University stated that the provisional degree and domicile certificate of Rahim Dad Khan submitted along with his nomination papers were bogus. Shahid Ali and Riaz Khan from the PF-27 constituency, Mardan, who contested elections against Raheem, had filed two identical election petitions against Rahim, seeking his disqualification from office on the basis of possessing fake degrees. Another inquiry conducted by Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai University has revealed that the degrees of MPAs Mir Ali Khan Magsi, PPP’s Ikramullah, Mir Abid Hussain Jatoi and PML-Q’s Mir Abid Khan were forged. In addition, PML-Q MPA Malik Iqbal Langrial’s degree was also found fake along with PPP Minister Haji Sher Azam Khan. staff rpeort/daily times monitor
