Action to be taken against anti-state elements: Malik

ISLAMABAD: Condemning Saturday’s blasts in Lahore, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the government would take action against anti-state elements who want to destabilise the country.

Talking to reporters, the interior minister said the provincial government had been informed a few days ago about the possibility of such an incident.

“We will trace the culprits and they will not succeed in their nefarious designs,” Malik said. He said terrorists were on the run and hit populated areas to create fear and terror among the people there.

“However, we will jointly handle these elements and eradicate the menace of terrorism from our soil,” he said.

To a question about talks between the foreign ministers from Pakistan and India, he said these talks were bilateral and the barrier had been broken. “All issues will be gradually settled in the coming days,” he said. app
