30 dead in Balochistan rains



QUETTA: Heavy rain hit parts of Balochistan as flood in Hanna Lake in district Barkhan of Balochistan killed at least 30 people, Geo News reports on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Barkhan said 50 people were swept way with flood in Hanna Lake in Barkhan among which 30 bodies have been recovered whereas rescue and search work continued in flood-hit area.

Road links between Barkhan and Kohlu have been cut off as the Nardwala Bridge washed away in the downpours. Deputy Commissioner Kohlu Nasrullah Rind said emergency has been declared in Kohlu and affectees being shifted to safer places.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Sibbi Division Qamar Masood told Geo News that more than 800 people trapped in floodwaters. Disaster Management Authority has been requested to send boats for the rescue of trapped people whereas four helicopters of Pakistan Army also called to take part in rescue operation.
