Targeted killing drama leaves 15 more dead


KARACHI: At least 15 more persons have been killed in separate incidents of the fresh spree of targeted killings in Karachi within last 24 hours, Geo News reported.

According to details, unidentified gunmen opened fire in Johar Chowke, resulting in the closure of shops, however, the timely arrival of Rangers helped control the situation.

Two people were killed at a tea hotel in Bafarzon and Ancholi while three people were shot dead in Nusrat Colony, Baldiya Town and Baghdadi.

In another incident, some unrecognized men opened fire at a youth named Imran in Liayari Khadda market, leaving him dead on the spot.

Similarly, two people were gunned down at Korongi No. 5 Monchi Morr and Orangi Town Nishan-e-Haider Chowke.

Three more people were killed in Sarjani and Khuda Ki Basti while a corpse, tied by feet and hands, was recovered from Korangi Zaman Town.

The unabated targeted killings have triggered panic and paralyzed the affected areas, however, life is gradually coming to normalcy in various areas including Gulistan-e-Johar.

Following the recent spate of tragic killings, Rangers and Police conducted joint search operations and apprehended several suspects.

According to details, the death toll from violent incidents has mounted to 44 during this week as the spate of the inhuman carnage continued the seventh day as well.
