Nawaz vows to continue politics of reconciliation

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will continue with the politics of reconciliation, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said on Monday, according to private TV channel.

Speaking to reporters at the General Hospital, Lahore, after enquiring after the health of veteran party leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi soon after his arrival from London, the PML-N leader said his party wishes to strengthen all institutions in the country.

He said the PML-N wants to follow the Charter of Democracy in true spirit.

Nawaz said President Asif Ali Zardari had not fulfilled his promises, however the PML-N would continue with the politics of reconciliation.

Nawaz said the government should drive out fake degree holders from every institution of the country.

“If there is any possible threat to us due to the action against them, we don’t care... they must be expelled,” Nawaz said. “These are black sheep and I request the media to please unmask such elements,” he said.

To a question, he said that Mastikhel’s resolution against the media in the Punjab Assembly on July 9 was condemnable and appropriate action would be taken against him.
