New monsoon system to start from Aug 02

ISLAMABAD: Another weather system is likely to develop in next 24 to 36 hours, which may affect eastern parts of the country in the next four to five days.

Director General Pakistan Meteorology Department (PMD) Dr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said Friday.

The weather system that was causing a horrid rainfall across the country is expected to subside in the next 24 hours however; the flood caused by already fallen rain is likely to continue.

He said that the devastating rains that caused flood have already started to weaken, due to which heavy rain is not expected in the next few days.

"However, there are signs of some scattered rains in some parts of the Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Punjab and Kashmir in the next 24 to 48 hours," he added.
